He had been in failing health for a short time. Mr. Osterkamp was 69 years of age, and was born in the town of Pehmarn, Schleswig, Holstein, Germany. He was married in that country, and to this union were born nine children. Two preceded their father in death: Henry Osterkamp who served his country in the World war and died in action, and one daughter, Mrs. Dora Arlt, who died in Germany last December. In addition to his wife, Mr. Osterkamp is survived by the following children, all of whom live in the vicinity of Amber: George, Carl, Herman, Ernest, Nicholas, Theodore, and Henrietta. Twenty-three grand children survive, and one brother, George, who is a resident of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Osterkamp emigrated to the United States from Germany in 1922, and settled in Amber near their children. The funeral services were held Wednesday morning of this week at 10 o'clock at the family home, there after at the Zion's Lutheran church in Wayne township. Rev. John Willms, pastor of that church, had charge of both services. Mr. Osterkamp's body was laid to rest in the country cemetery adjoining the church.
