Description	:	Mrs. William Vander Weide Passed Away On March 18th Mrs. William Vander Weide passed away on Sunday morning, March 18, after a long illness, having been bed ridden since July 18, 1949, when she fractured her hip in a fall. She died at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bleeker, where she had been cared for. Mrs. Vander Weide nee Dirkje Bleyenberg, was born at Ede Netherlands on April 18, 1873. Read More	Mrs. William Vander Weide Passed Away On March 18th Mrs. William Vander Weide passed away on Sunday morning, March 18, after a long illness, having been bed ridden since July 18, 1949, when she fractured her hip in a fall. She died at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bleeker, where she had been cared for. Mrs. Vander Weide nee Dirkje Bleyenberg, was born at Ede Netherlands on April 18, 1873. In 1896 she was united in marriage to William Vander Weide and they came to America, in the fall of 1901 with three small children and lived in and around Sioux Center since that time. Her husband passed away on January 24, 1943. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Henry Van der Weide, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vander Weide, who died at the age of 20 in 1946. She is now survived by nine children: Peter; Hattie (Mrs. Leen Rozeboom) of Rock Valley; Teunis; Dena (Mrs. Wm. De Vos); Arie of Boyden; Henry of Orange City; John of Maurice; and Dora (Mrs. Dick Bleeker) of Sioux Center. There are also 42 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren surviving; and a brother and a sister. Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at the Netherlands Reformed Church. Rev. C. Hegeman, local pastor and Rev. Van Zweden of Rock Valley officiated. Burial took place at the Sioux Center cemetery. Sioux County Index 1951-03-29.
