Description	:	Dixie A. Blanton, 86, of Manteno, died Monday (March 11, 2013) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Brown Funeral Home in Manteno, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Andy Anthony will officiate. Burial will be in Skyline Cemetery in Monee. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley. Mrs. Blanton was a homemaker. She worked at Provena St. Mary's Hospital for Senior Care Plus. She enjoyed writing poetry and keeping up with current events and politics. Surviving are one son, Steve Blanton, of Bourbonnais; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Bill Vandersteen, of St. Anne; grandchildren, Jeremy and Kerrie Blanton, Aaron Blanton and Tracy Hazelwood, Karen Vandersteen and Rick Stoner, Casandra and Dustin Brown and Tracy Freeze; great-grandchildren, Kory Blanton, Logan Blanton, Liam Blanton, Vivian Stoner, Richard Stoner, Amelia Stoner, Reece, Hunter and Gaige Brown, and Jordan, Bailey and Tyler Freeze; one great-great-grandchild, Cayden Coffin; and two nieces and one nephew.
