Read More	LIFE’S PURPOSE – “To be loving, kind and considerate to all of my family and friends and to all of God’s creatures.” Dollie Isabelle McDaniel-Butler, 93, of Minatare passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on May 20, 2006, amid the presence of several loved ones as well as her God. Dollie was born in Ewing, Nebraska, on October 26, 1912, to John and Dora (Hannen) McDaniel. She received her education at rural Frenchtown Country School and Ewing High School. Dollie is the last sibling of her family of ten children to enter the heavenly kingdom. Dollie married Doyal Butler on November 19, 1928, in Neligh, Nebraska. She and Doyal resided on the Butler Homestead in Ewing before moving to Sterling, Colorado; Heeney, Colorado; Henry, Nebraska; Huntley, Wyoming; Scottsbluff, Nebraska; Bridgeport, Nebraska; and finally to Minatare, Nebraska. To this union were born three girls and three boys. Until her health began to fail, Dollie was an active member of the Minatare Chamber and a ruling elder of the Minatare Presbyterian Church where she served in many capacities; most recently, Dollie presided over communion during Christmas Eve services in December, 2005. She also enjoyed membership in Eastern Star #270 and served as Worthy Matron in 1976. According to Doyal, Dollie was the “unofficial” greeter at the University of Nebraska football games (1970-1975). Her favorite hobby was gardening. She was a member and an active participant in the Minatare Garden Club. Her ultimate passion resided in her love for her family and friends however. Dollie worked at Grampy’s Pancake House as a hostess and the Lincoln Hotel in reservations and as a desk assistant. She was also employed as a store associate with Ben Franklin and Gering Clothing prior to her retirement. Her husband, Doyal; son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Peggy; her parents; grandson, Bret Gandy; seven brothers; two sisters; and sons-in-law Don Bateman and Herb Gandy preceded her in death.
