Hunter was born November 18, 1920, at Lorena, Texas, the daughter of Erwin Frank and Berdie Jones Purczinsky. She lived in Texas until moving to Jasper County, Iowa, in 1947, residing in the Galesburg-Reasnor area. In 1969 she moved to Newton, Iowa, where she has spent the remainder of her life. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Newton. Dollie devoted her life to being a wife, mother and homemaker. Due to declining health she became a resident of Heritage Manor Care Center, where she resided at the time of her death. Death came to Dollie last Sunday morning, June 23, 1991, at the Skiff Medical Center. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Walters of McGregor, Texas, and Carroll Michmershuizen of Newton; three daughters, Mrs. Ken (Wanda) Edens of Miami, Oklahoma, Mrs. David (Sherry) Fifer of Newton, and Mrs. Robin (Joni) Eastman of Portage, Michigan; three step-sons, David Hunter of Carlisle, Iowa, Gary Hunter of Stow, Ohio, and Daniel Hunter of Kellogg, Iowa; a step-daughter, Mrs. John (Nancy) Grimes of Monroe, Iowa; twenty-two grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joseph Carroll Michmrshuizen, on September 24, 1964; her second husband, Donald W. Hunter, on June 16, 1989; and a grandson, Kenny Walters. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Dollie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
