She was the daughter of Arthur and Anna (White) Lofgren. She attended elementary school at Corpus Christi in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Public High School. Dolores was born February 20, 1925 in Dakota City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Arthur and Anna (White) Lofgren. She attended elementary school at Corpus Christi in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Public High School. She moved to Sioux City, Iowa where she worked as a secretary in insurance offices. She married Alex G. Chicoine Jr. at St. Joseph’s Church in Sioux City in November 1950. They lived on the family farm near Jefferson and raised four children. They later moved to acreage south of Jefferson. When Alex retired they spent winters in Arizona until Alex died in October, 2002. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Jefferson and served as secretary for the Mother’s Club, served on the Altar Society and Church Council over the years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved to spend time with family and friends. She was manager and bookkeeper of the family farm. Involved in painting and ceramics, she expressed her creative spirit. She loved birds and was an avid reader and gardener. Survivors are daughter Deborah Skouge (Paul) of Sioux City, IA, Cindy Chicoine (Morgan Rivers) of Des Moines, IA, Greg Chicoine of Jefferson, SD, Dennis Chicoine (Genean) of Jefferson, SD, and two grandchildren: Aaron Skouge of Omaha, NE and Allison Skouge of Sioux City, IA.
