Description	:	Rev. D.L. Boone, Jr. of Greenville, SC, passed away on February 27, 2002 to be with his Lord whom he had served for over forty-five years. Having trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior as a young man in the military, he spent the rest of his life preparing for and preaching the good news of God’s love and forgiveness of sin. He served in several small churches in areas around Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he was a student in Tennessee Temple Bible School and College. In 1970 he came to Reidville, South Carolina to pastor a church and in 1972 he founded Faith Missionary Baptist Church which he pastored until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Independent Bible Church of Greenville and was a U. S. Army Veteran. Native of Spartanburg County, son of the late Dolphus L. Boone, Sr. and Mae Bell Thompson Boone. Survived by his wife, Yvonne; three daughters, Frieda DePenning (Mark) of Greer, SC, Jan Rogers (Randy) of Winston-Salem, NC and Laurie Farley (Alan) of Greenville, SC; a sister, Vivian Smith (Willard) of Spartanburg, SC; nine grandchildren and many dear friends. Visitation was 7:00-9:00 pm, Friday, March 1, 2002 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 2, 2002 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Robert Bevins, the Rev. Charles Culpepper and the Rev. Roger Dickinson. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
