Description	:	Sudden Death On Thursday afternoon Mrs. Antoine Brehm, of Plymouth township, died suddenly and under somewhat mysterious circumstances. Mrs. Brehm had been suffering from a complication of diseases incident to women, for some time and the fact preyed heavily upon her mind, resulting finally in insomnia. Dr. Krejel, of Sioux City, was called, and administered remedies, among others an opiate to produce sleep. This last proved so disagreeable to the taste that for a time Mrs. Brehm was obliged to discontinue the use of it. However, later the lady again resorted to the drug to produce sleep, without much effect.... Mrs. Brehm had been suffering from a complication of diseases incident to women, for some time and the fact preyed heavily upon her mind, resulting finally in insomnia. Dr. Krejel, of Sioux City, was called, and administered remedies, among others an opiate to produce sleep. This last proved so disagreeable to the taste that for a time Mrs. Brehm was obliged to discontinue the use of it. However, later the lady again resorted to the drug to produce sleep, without much effect. On Wednesday last Mrs. B. suffered from a severe hemorrhage, losing a great quanity of blood, but from this she rallied, and Thursday morning gave indications of improvement. Some time in the latter part of the day Mrs. Brehm was again overcome by weakness (as is indicated by the result) and she left the house, her mind wandering and unsettled. She had evidently taken several large doses of the opiate, and this added to the weakness natural after the great loss of blood, completely prostrated all her senses, and after walking a few steps she fell with her face close in the water of the Floyd, which passes near her home. When discovered Mrs. Brehm was lying in the position embedded above, still alive, but after fifteen or twenty minutes she quietly , peacefully breathed her last. A cornorer's inquest was held, and the verdict reached was that the deceased came to her death from suffocation. Mrs. Brehm was a highly respected lady, well known to all the people down the Floyd.
