The Sigourney, Iowa native was born Aug 8, 1927 and died of cancer Aug 3 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County, Fremont. He was a Sigourney High School graduate and resided in Atlantic, Iowa before moving to Fremont in 1963. The veteran of World War II served with the US Army in Japan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fremont, VFW Post 6219 of Culbertson and the American Legion Post in Culbertson. He and C Anne Lichte were married April 12, 1947 in Ottumwa, Iowa. Survivors include his wife of Fremont; three sons, two daughters, (name of living children omitted) ; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Hubert (Anna Mae) Smith, Sigourney. A prayer service was held Aug 5 at 7:30 pm at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Further services were at 3 pm the following day at Reynolds Funeral Home in Sigourney. Rev Kelly Karges officiated at both services. Interment was in Sigourney's Pleasant Grove Cemetery, with military graveside services by Sigourney VFW and American Legion Posts.
