He was born in Vermillion, Kansa, and lived in Chicago 28 years before moving to Kansas City in 1979. Mr. Geyer worked for the United States League of Savings Institutions for 28 years, retiring as staff vice president in 1976. Previously he taught in Topeka; was an elementary school principal in Overbrook, Hays and Topeka in Kansas; and was director of elementary education for the Topeka School District from 1946 to 1951. He graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, received a master's degree in education from the Kansas State College at Emporia and graduated from the Institute for Financial Education in Chicago. He was secretary general of th e International Union of Building Societies and Savings Associations from 1976 to 1979. He was a past president of the Kansas Association of Elementary Principals and a charter member and past president of the Kansas Administrators Club. He was a member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Kansas City Rotary Club and a past president of the Chicago and Topeka Rotary clubs. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Kansas City. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Vona Geyer of the home; a daughter, Marcia Jepsen, Grinnell, Iowa; three sisters, Fern Wendt, Kansas City, Lucile Doyle, Silver Spring, Maryland, and Eula Mae Cowell, Topeka; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Chapel, Topeka; private burial in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka.
