Description	:	Husband of Eliza Lydia "Lida" (Goldsby) Benson. Don and Eliza were married on October 24, 1884 in Johnson County, Nebraska. It appears that Don and Eliza had at least four children together. Their eldest child, Clyde Benson, died at age one from an accidental drowning in a tub of water. Two daughters appear to have died from diptheria and pneumonia, one dying January 1894 and one in February 1894. Don and Eliza also had a son, Everett Joseph Benson, born in 1892 who died after 1917. Obituary from The Columbus Telegram, Columbus, Nebraska, Friday, April 27, 1917, Page 8: "Don F. Benson, a familiar character around Columbus streets for many years, died Sunday morning at the county farm where he had been taken as a county charge about a week before. He was past 63 years old, having been born in Iowa August 7, 1853. He leaves a son, Everett Benson, of Columbus. Funeral services were held at the Gass chapel Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial was made in Columbus cemetery."
