Description	:	O’NEILL — Don Novak, 82, of O’Neill died Monday, April 20, 2015, at Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital in O’Neill. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill with the Rev. John Bohn officiating. Burial will be at O’Neill Cemetery with military honors by O’Neill American Legion Simonson Post 93 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 926. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pat; three children, LaDonna Novak and friend Valerie of Omaha, Diane Miller and husband Scott of Kansas City, Mo., and Deb Rivera and husband Ruben of Kearney; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Krivohlavek and Al Vacha; and sisters-in-law, Carol, Kathy and Bev Vacha. Don was born on Dec. 1, 1932, in Schuyler to Frank and Helen (Kunneman) Novak. He graduated from Schuyler High School. On Dec. 7, 1953, Don married Lorraine A. Vacha in Kearney. He served in the U.S. Navy from October 1951 until September 1955. He was superintendent of the elevator in Aurora for Dowd Grain. Don was involved in the development of irrigation systems in the O’Neill area, as well as farming. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, O’Neill American Legion Simonson Post 93 and VFW Post 926. Don was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, June.
