Description	:	BROWER, DONA JEAN—Dona Jean Brower was born to Ben Kirchoff and Marie Crays Kirchoff on December 16, 1928, at Western and passed away on June 24, 1983, at Methodist hospital, Omaha, at the age of 54 years, six months and eight days. She was one of two children in the family. Dona graduated from Geneva high school in 1946. She most recently lived in Geneva, and then moved to Stromsburg in 1971. Read More	BROWER, DONA JEAN—Dona Jean Brower was born to Ben Kirchoff and Marie Crays Kirchoff on December 16, 1928, at Western and passed away on June 24, 1983, at Methodist hospital, Omaha, at the age of 54 years, six months and eight days. She was one of two children in the family. Dona graduated from Geneva high school in 1946. She most recently lived in Geneva, and then moved to Stromsburg in 1971. She was playground supervisor at Geneva elementary school, playground supervisor at Stromsburg elementary school and secretary at Stromsburg public school. She was married to Billy Brower of Geneva on March 30, 1947, and to them two children were born. Dona was active in Scouting and Little League baseball. She was a member and past-president of the Geneva American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member and past president of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. Dona loved working and being with children. She is survived by her husband, Bill Brower of Stromsburg; two sons, Brian and wife Alice of Schuyler and Brand and wife Jeri of Columbus; parents, Ben and Marie Kirchoff of Bellevue; sister, Pat Ortgies of Norman Ok.; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services were conducted from the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Geneva, on Monday, June 27, with the Rev. Charles Schepel officiating. Evelyn Foster was organist and Curt Prater was vocalist. Selections included “The Green Green Grass of Home,” and a reading of Tennyson’s “Crossing the Bar.” Pallbearers were Charles, Tom and Jay Chapman, Larry, Galen and Bruce Rocole.
