Dona graduated from Brunswick (NE.) High School. Dona married Vernon Ray Smith on January 30, 1946 in Pierce, NE. The couple made their home in Brunswick, NE. where she raised her children. She owned and operated stores in Plainview, NE., Lucky Step Shoe Store for ten years and The A & A Wardrobe Clothing Store. Dona a life member of the Congregational Church in Brunswick was also active in their Ladies Circle, enjoyed raising and arranging flowers, drawing, creating ceramics and painting them, sewing, was active with the 4-H and scouts with her children, and enjoyed cooking. Dona is survived by: daughter, Janis and Bill Stolp; sons, Dave Smith and Tim and his wife, Ann Smith all of Norfolk, NE.; brother, Marvin and Margie Middleton of Omaha, NE.; sister, Elburta Williams of El Paso, TX.; grandchildren, Roxanne Horst, Michelle Albin, Natalie Sanderson, Ryan Stolp, and Amanda Bryan and great grandchildren, Hailee Horst, Colton Horst, Tanner Stolp, Arianna Stolp, Tyler Ferris, Macie Sanderson, Madisyn Bryan, and Bo Bryan. Dona was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Vernon Ray Smith in 2009 and sister Evelyn Gibson. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Plainview, NE.
