Lundeen, the son of David and Rudena (Anderson) Lundeen, was born on September 25, 1925 in Alcester, South Dakota. He moved to Huron in 1926. Don lived in Huron all of his life except for 2 years when he served in the US Army during the Korean War, stationed at Fort Collins, CO and Fort Richardson at Anchorage, AK. He attended Huron Schools. Don worked at Hedbloms Clothing Store for many years, Northwest Pipe for 4 years and for John Schulte for 12 years. Donald married Joan Losey on March 14, 1951 in Manitou Springs, CO. To this union, one son, Douglas, was born. Don was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #44. Don enjoyed feeding squirrels at his home; even naming most of them. Grateful for having shared in Donald’s life are his wife of 67 years, Joan of Huron; son Douglas (Kathy) Lundeen of Rapid City and daughter Rita (Allen) Timm of Fredonia, WI; five grandchildren John (Christina) Lundeen of Birmingham, AL, LeAnne (Chad) Thrash of Meridian, MS, Brian Timm, Kevin Timm, and Todd Timm; fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Melborn (Bud) and his wife Marie, Kenneth and his wife Phyllis, and one sister Ardis Brown and her husband Frank.
