Burial with military rites will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Donnie was born on May 15, 1947 in Ames to Doyle G. And Shirley (Tripp) Robinson. He was a 1965 graduate of Colo High School and attended ISU. Donnis served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. On July 29, 1966, he married Sandra K. Swanson in Colo. He was employed at the National Animal Disease Center in Ames for the past 24 years. Donnie enjoyed farming, working with his cattle, fishing, helping 4-H kids, but most of all being with his grandchildren. Donnie is survived by his wife, Sandra of Nevada, Two daughters, Missy Borton (Todd) of Nevada and Shannon Ostrich (Doug) of Cedar Falls; son D.J.Robinson of Colo; four grandchildren; his mother Shirley Robinson of Colo and two brothers Bob Robinson (Jan) and Terry Robinson (Dawne) both of Colo. Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Doyle G. Robinson on July 28, 2001. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, December 5 at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.
