They lived in Columbus, where in 1957 Donald managed the first commercial printing department at Behlen Manufacturing. In 1967 he spent 1 year in Omaha, Nebraska, at Colonial Press Printing as their production manager. In 1968 Donald and his family moved back to Columbus to manage the commercial printing department for the Columbus Telegram.
