Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com. OBITUARY: DONALD C. ENDERLE Donald C. Enderle, the son of Arthur A. and Lydia S. (Arndt) Enderle, was born on a farm southwest of Hampton, Nebraska on February 14, 1918 and died at his home in Aurora, Nebraska on January 7, 2005, at the age of 86. Don grew up in the Hampton area and he attended country school through the 8th grade. In 2002, he was very proud to receive his high school diploma from Aurora High School through a veteran's program called "Operation Recognition". Don served in the Army Air Corps from October, 1942 to February, 1946. He was united in marriage to Wanda W. Cosier on December 24, 1944 in Aurora, Nebraska at the Federated Church. Don and Wanda began their life together in Kissimmee,Florida where he was stationed. After he was discharged, they returned to Aurora where they were engaged in farming. In 1950 they moved to their present home where they farmed until his retirement in 1993. Don was an active member of the Evangelical United Bretheran Church where he served as Treasurer. After the merger with the Methodist Church, he continued to be treasurer for a total of twenty-four years. He was a trustee of the Methodist Church and served on various boards of the church. He was active on the Soil Conservation Board; he was a Mason; and he belonged to both the Lions Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed bowling, and in his younger years, he actively participated in baseball. He also enjoyed going to cattle shows in Nebraska and other states He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clarence. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, his daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gayle James of Aurora; three grandchildren, Susan (Cory) Pawloski of Omaha, John James of Lincoln, and Jeff James of Aurora, other relatives and friends.
