Rans Donald C. RANS, 66, R.R. 1, Rochester, died at 8 p.m. sunday in South Bend Memorial hospital, where he was admitted Feb. 22. He was born Feb. 28, 1912 in Rochester to Harley Otto and Louetta HICKLE RANS. He was married in South Bend Oct. 12, 1935 to Mary A. LANDIS, who survives. Mr. Rans farmed and was a former employee of Baker's hardware and of Rochester Community Schools. He was a member of the First Baptist church, Rochester Odd Fellows and Masonic lodges, was a 32nd degree Mason of the South Bend Scottish Rite and the Mizpah Shrine of Fort Wayne. Surviving with the wife are two sons, Stephen J. [RANS], Scott Air Force Base, Belleville, Ill., and Donald Lynn [RANS], Redland, Cal.; four grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph V. (Blanche) KING, Rochester. Preceding in death were a sister, Isabelle GROVE, and a brother, Forrest H. RANS. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home with the Rev. Donald E. MAUGHAN officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday until time of service. The Odd Fellows lodge will have memorial services at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by Masonic services at 8 p.m. The family requests that memorials other than flowers be made to the Rocghester First Baptist church building fund. ----- Published in The Rochester Sentinel Tuesday, March 28, 1978 Donald C.
