Description	:	Donald Charles "Don" Fish, of Rising City, Nebraska, passed away on July 5, 2013 at David Place, David City, Nebraska. Donald was born July 30, 1927 the son of Charles O. "Charlie" and Maude Estelle (Chase) Fish on a farm near Rising City, Nebraska. Donald received his grade school education at Union Hill school, rural Rising City, Nebraska, then attended one year of school in Neosha, Missouri where he and his family lived for a short period of time before returing to Rising City, Nebraska. Read More	Donald Charles "Don" Fish, of Rising City, Nebraska, passed away on July 5, 2013 at David Place, David City, Nebraska. Donald was born July 30, 1927 the son of Charles O. "Charlie" and Maude Estelle (Chase) Fish on a farm near Rising City, Nebraska. Donald received his grade school education at Union Hill school, rural Rising City, Nebraska, then attended one year of school in Neosha, Missouri where he and his family lived for a short period of time before returing to Rising City, Nebraska. Don then graduated from Rising City (NE.) High School in 1944. After high school he worked as a farm laborer before serving in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947. He returned to Rising City, Nebraska and was employed by Rising City (NE.) Implement. On March 5, 1950 Don married Luella Heins. This union was blessed with son, Tim. Don operated R.C. Produce for several years as well as being an assistant mail carrier. For 22 years he was employed by Reading Township as their maintainer operator and owned and operated a poultry laying house. Don was a member of First Lutheran Church, Rising City, Nebraska, serving on the church council and faithfully helped keep the church and grounds in good order. He was active in the community serving on the Rising City (NE.) School Board and Town Board. In 2009 he was recognized for 61 years as a firefighter and 35 years as Secretary/Treasurer of the Rising City Volunteer Fire Deoartment. Working in his shop provided many hours of enjoyment. Donald is survived by: wife, Luella Fish; son, Tim Fish of South Salem, New York; sister-in-law, Frances Fish; one nephew and a host of family and friends. Donald is preceded in death by: parents and brothers, Willard and Ernest Fish. Burial was in Circle Mound Cemetery, Rising City, Nebraska.
