Donald died Monday, August 17, 2015, at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek, Nebraska. Donald Bennett, son of Blaine and Ella (Herden) Bennett, was born on October 24, 1934, at home in Madison, Nebraska. Donald attended area rural schools near the family home. He served his country in the United States Navy for two years. Donald was stationed at China Lake, California and Reamfield, San Diego. He performed maintenance on a helicopter that took supplies to Alaska. On April 19, 1958, he was united in marriage to Lucille Zoucha at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Tarnov, Nebraska. Donald spent his life farming until he retired in 1998. He was a dairy farmer for 27 years. He and Lucille lived in the Tilden, Nebraska area until they moved to Norfolk, Nebraska in 1996. Donald is survived by his wife, Lucille of Norfolk, Nebraska; his children, Rick (Teresa) Bennett of Norfolk, Cheryl (Joe) Breske of Milbank, South Dakota; Tim Bennett and Terry (Becky) Bennett of Tilden, Nebraska, and Carla (Chris) McManus of Fremont, Nebraska; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; and brothers, Jerry (Sandy) Bennett of Florida and Warren Bennett of Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Todd; daughter-in-law, Angie Bennett; sister-in-law, Sheryl Bennett; and brother and sister-in-law, Blayne (Angie) Evans.
