Description	:	Donald Dean Doernemann was born July 31, 1934 in rural Cuming County, Nebraska to Joseph and Lena (Rhode) Doernemann. He was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean. Don attended the Sacred Heart Academy at Olean, Nebraska. He farmed and feed cattle with his father and brother. On December 27, 1958, he was united in marriage to Vyiolette Fuchs at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Battle Creek, Nebraska. In 1962, he started on his own in farming and cattle feeding. Don was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean, served on its Finance Committee, and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. In the 1960's, he got involved with the House of Mary Shrine, near Yankton, SD and enjoyed the peace and quietness while there. [ Note photos in his FAG Memorial at House of Mary Shrine. ] He loved farming, feeding cattle, and at the age of 19, Don purchased his first pen of cattle to feed. He enjoyed attending cattle sales and buying cattle for the feedlot. Donald passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the West Point Living Center in West Point, Nebraska. Survivors include his wife, Vyiolette, one daughter and one son along with two granddaughters as well as two sisters. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers : Lambert, Gerald, and Wilfred Doernemenn, and his sister, Delores Robertson. Visitation was on Tuesday, November 11, 2009, from 2:30 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church and there will be a Public Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Olean rural Dodge, NE. Celebrants officiating the service were Father Patrick McLaughlin and Monsignor Ralph Steffensmeier. Concelebrants were Father Roland Peschel and Monsignor Mel Wiese. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Minnick Funeral Chapel in Dodge, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
