Description	:	Donald Braunstadter, age 61, died peacefully at his home on June 5, 2009, after losing his short battle with cancer. Don was born July 25, 1947, in Billings, to John and Margaret Braunstadter. Don's mother died when he was a young child. His father remarried Helen Todd in 1954. Don and his numerous brothers and sisters were lovingly raised in Shepherd. He attended and graduated from the Shepherd Public Schools. He lived and worked in Billings where he and Nylene raised their only daughter, Michele. They were married for 24 wonderful years before she also lost her life to cancer in 2003. Don had been employed at Jim's Electric for the last 12 years. He enjoyed his work and the many friends he made there over the years. He loved to hunt and fish. Those who knew him well loved to tease him about his competitive side. Don won many $1 bills on those fishing trips! He was a hard worker who loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was kind and generous with a good sense of humor and a smile that smiled right up to the very end. We will all remember the husband, the father, the grandfather, the brother and the friend in Don. We will love and treasure his memory forever. A special thank you to the family, friends and co-workers who tirelessly showed their support to "Donnie", your well-wishes, phone calls, cards and visits made to the hospital and home were very much appreciated. He was loved and he knew it. Thank you. To Rocky Mountain Hospice; thank you from the bottom of our hearts, you were an invaluable source of support to us. Don is preceded in death by his wife, Nylene Braunstadter; as well as numerous other family members. He is survived by his daughter, Michele (Braundtadter) Halton and son-in-law, Paul, Halton and grandsons, Caleb, Keegan and Kohen and mother-in-law, Inez Landa. He is also survived by his twin brother, Dennis Braunstadter; his brother, Terry Braunstadter; his brothers Gary and Carter Strever; and his numerous step-brothers and sisters. Don also has other surviving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Smith West Funeral Chapel at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 11.
