Description	:	From: Clausen Funeral home: Dwaine Swift was born at home on May 24, 1931, to Oral and Aletha (Stinton) Swift. Upon graduating from Burke High School in 1949, the next two years were spent helping his parents with the farming operation. In 1952 Dwaine was drafted into the U.S. Army. During... Read More	From: Clausen Funeral home: Dwaine Swift was born at home on May 24, 1931, to Oral and Aletha (Stinton) Swift. Upon graduating from Burke High School in 1949, the next two years were spent helping his parents with the farming operation. In 1952 Dwaine was drafted into the U.S. Army. After completing two years of service he returned to South Dakota and started training with the USDA. During this time he worked as a Chief Clerk in the Hughes-Stanley County office in Fort Pierre. During the training period, Dwaine was married to Avis Roggow on February 14, 1960. They were blessed with one son, David. In 1961, they purchased a farm in the Lucas area where David and his family now reside. In 1980 Dwaine was chosen as County Executive Director of the Gregory County ASCS,in Burke office while continuing to farm until his retirement from ASCS in 1996. On June 16, 2005, Dwaine married Donna Lindgren of Pickstown, South Dakota. Dwaine passed on to eternal life on April 16, 2016 at the Wagner Community Hospital after suffering for many years from Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA). He leaves to mourn his wife Donna, his son David (Fawn), his grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Baptist Church in Burke, SD.
