He was born on April 18, 1930 in White County, IN to the late Ira and Ruth (Greenburg) Stearns. On November 9, 1956 at the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello, IN, he married Nancy K. Don was an electrician all of his life, working for former... Read More	Donald E. "Don" Stearns, 91, died on January 1, 2022 at his home in Monticello, IN with family by his side. He was born on April 18, 1930 in White County, IN to the late Ira and Ruth (Greenburg) Stearns. On November 9, 1956 at the First Presbyterian Church in Monticello, IN, he married Nancy K. Holcomb; she passed away on January 31, 2018. Don had lived in the Monticello area most of his life. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Don was an electrician all of his life, working for former Greenlee Electric for over 27 years. He then went to work at Indiana Beach until he retired. Don was a member of the American Legion Post #81. He loved to fish, hunt rabbits and squirrels, and camping. Don especially loved all of his family. He is survived by five daughters; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, cousins and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter, Cheryl Ann Stearns; two son-in-laws, Michael Brady and Timothy Davis; and eight siblings - Helen Wilson, Ira Stearns, Wilbur Stearns, Betty Harris, Shirley Harris, Lois Guard, Dennis Wayne Stearns and Harold Dean Stearns. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Miller-Roscka Funeral Home. Rev. Joe Johnson will officiate. Burial will full military rites by the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard will be conducted at the Idaville Cemetery in Idaville, IN.
