Description	:	Donald was born on March 24, 1920 in Low Moor, IA, the son of Alvin and Ethel (Hall) Nielsen. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1937. He served with the US Navy from 1944-1946 on the ship LST1047 in the south pacific during WWII. He married Dorothea Hill on May 10, 1941 in Monticello, MO; she died in 2010. Donald worked for Elmer Hill Trucking and E.I. DuPont as a millwright for over 30 years, when he retired.
