Description	:	CENTRAL CITY — Donald Edward Lampshire, 80, of Central City, formerly of Hordville, died on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hordville Event Center with Pastor Ford Shenk and the Rev. Darryl Kenney officiating. Burial will be in the Hordville Cemetery. Solt-Wagner Funeral Home is assisting the family. Don was born on March 17, 1936, in Hordville to Lyman and Goldie (Benson) Lampshire. He grew up on the farm near Hordville. Don attended school in Hordville and graduated from Hordville High School in 1954. He was united in marriage on April 21, 1957, to Shirley Abernathy at the First Baptist Church in Hordville. To this union, three children were born: Donita, Larry and Shawna. He spent over 50 years of his life farming near Hordville. Don also worked as a bus driver for Polk-Hordville Schools. He attended the First Baptist Church in Hordville and was a former member of the Polk Masonic Lodge and Wilenna 321 Eastern Star. Don was involved in the Special Olympics program for over 20 years. He worked at the fireworks stand in Central City for many years and hardly ever missed a sporting event in Central City and Hordville. He also enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling whenever it was on TV. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Donita Lampshire of Central City, Larry Lampshire of Hordville and Shawna Lampshire (Jerry Brown) of Central City; his grandchildren, Melinda (Mark) Buller of Central City and Matthew Lampshire of Hordville; great-grandchildren, Leah, Blaine, Tessa, Taiya and Trace Buller of Central City; his brother, Merlyn Lampshire of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; his siblings, Earl (Lorraine) Flodman, Vergil (Delores) Flodman Sr., Darlene Meerkatz, Eugene (Rachel) Lampshire and Calmer Lampshire; sister-in-law, Janice Lampshire; niece, Elizabeth Flodman Wolfe; and nephews, Gene Meerkatz and David Flodman.
