The Rev. E. J. Braun officiated at the 2 o'clock service before a setting of white daisies and blue and white pompons and lighted candelabra. Mrs. Clarence Meier was organist and Margaret West sang. The bride is the daughter of M'. and Mrs. Ray Wilkening. Given in marriage by her foster father, she wore a gown of white brocaded satin with a bodice of net and satin. She carried a bouquet of red ro es and wore ,pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. MR. AND MRS. Paul Wilkening were the attendants. Mrs. Wilkening wore blue brocaded satin with a matching head piece. Gene Bakken of State Center and Bob Lawthers of Grinnell were ushers. A reception for 200 guests was held at the Community Hall. The five tiered cake was baked by Mrs. Harold Mahlow. Assisting with the serving and gifts were Mesdames Bob Lawthers, Nolan Eubanks, Gene Bakken and Robert Kohler and Misses Betty Coffin and Phyllis Olson. Miss West, Sandra Wilkening, Richard Brandt and Mrs. Meier furnished music at the reception. THE BRIDEGROOM is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Lawthers of. Marshalltown. After a wedding trip to Minnesota they will live at 9 S. 3rd St., in Marshalltown where he is employed by the Cooper Manufacturing Company. Guests from California, Colorado, Nebraska, Decorah, Northwood, Grinnell, Marshalltown and St. Anthony attended the wedding.
