Don son of William Paul and Emma Karoline Dorothea (Schroeder) Briese, was born October 12, 1924 in Albion, Nebraska. Don was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of Albion, Nebraska. He attended school at District #4 through the 10th grade at Boone, Nebraska and graduated from Albion (NE.) High School. Read More	Donald Edwin "Don" Briese, of Albion, NE, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Don son of William Paul and Emma Karoline Dorothea (Schroeder) Briese, was born October 12, 1924 in Albion, Nebraska. Don was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church of Albion, Nebraska. He attended school at District #4 through the 10th grade at Boone, Nebraska and graduated from Albion (NE.) High School. On February 16, 1945, Don entered the United States Navy, Hospital Corps and served during World War II until being honorably discharged on July 8th, 1946. On May 17, 1948, Donald was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Seda at the St. Michael's parsonage, Albion, Nebraska. They made their home on a farm in the Boone, Nebraska area until September of 1985 when they moved into Albion, Nebraska. Don still continued to farm until retiring in 1994. Don was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Albion, Nebraska. He dearly loved his family and had a deep love of God. Don is survived by: wife, Mary Ellen Briese of Albion, NE; children: Steven Briese and wife Judy and family of Windsor, CO., Barbara Tisthammer and husband Jerry and family of Albion, NE., Tim Briese and wife Teresa and family of Colorado Springs, CO. and Tom Briese and wife Joan and family of Albion, NE.; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother Irvin Briese of Lincoln, NE. and brother-in-law Gerald Kolm of Fremont, NE. Don was preceded in death by: sister, Irma Kolm and brothers: Victor, Elmer, Clarence and Raymond Briese. Interment was in The Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, Nebraska.
