He was preceded in death by his father, Albert, his Grandparents, a niece and several aunts and uncles. Donald Eugene Johnson was born May 9, 1945 in John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa. He was the son of Albert and Ruth Dirks, Johnson. Don attended the Monticello Community Schools where he graduated in 1963. He then started farming in Castle Grove Township, near Monticello. Donald E. Johnson and Mae Louise Falkers were married June 18, 1966 at Bennett, Iowa. Don continued to farm and also worked construction, Ag related businesss and factory work off the farm. He also served 6 years in the National Guard. Don was a lifelong member of S.S. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church and currently serving as a Deacon. He served in many positions on the church council and committees. Don led the Adult Bible Study, was a retreat leader, a lay minister, and taught Sunday School. He also was a member of the Monticello Mens Choir for 14 years. He loved music and dancing. Don was a loving husband, father and Grandfather.
