He served in the United States Army and was employed in the time office of the former Clinton Foods Co. Suvivors included his wife; two sons, Ted of Clinton and Gary of Mt. Carroll; his father and stepmother, Margaret of Sabula; six grandchildren; a brother, Richard of Camanche; a sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Geneiveve) Heubner of Sabula; a stepsister, Mrs. David (Geraldine) Wise of Sabula; and four stepbrothers, William, James, Leon and John Johnson, all of Sabula. He was preceded in death, by his mother. 22 Nov. 1983.
