Description	:	Donald Schutte March 29, 1925 - June 14, 2014 Services for Donald G. Schutte, 89, of rural Beemer will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wisner. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Wisner. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-8 p.m., with the family present from 6-8 p.m., at the Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner and continue on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. He died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Wisner Care Center. Donald George Schutte was born March 29, 1925, on the family farm near Wisner to George and Leona (Meyer) Schutte. He was baptized on April 25, 1925, by the Rev. F.L. Teskow and later confirmed on April 10, 1938, by the Rev. Henry Dorn at the Zion Lutheran Church in rural Wisner. Don attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School and graduated from West Point High School in 1942. He farmed with his father and later with his brothers south of Wisner. Don was a life member of Zion-St. John Lutheran Church, rural Wisner, where he had served in several positions and sang in the church choir and was a member of the Lutheran Laymen's League and Lutherans for Life. He also served on the Wisner Rural Fire Board. Don had also belonged to a Sheep Head Card Club for several years. Don is survived by wife Dorothy Schutte of Beemer; son David Schutte of Beemer; daughter Anne Schutte and husband Mark Gaffney of Lincoln; granddaughter Veronica Gaffney of Lincoln; brothers Wesley and wife Dorothy Schutte of Beemer and Gerald and wife Karen Schutte of Beemer. Don was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Alice Marie and a sister Mildred Schutte.
