Eden, 92, of Anita, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 3, 2009, at Colonial Manor in Anita. Donald Gilbert Eden was born January 29, 1917, in Wiota, Iowa, the son of Otto and Bertha (Brawe) Eden. He spent his life on the farm near Wiota, attending country school and was a member of the Wiota Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Lucille Burmeister; two sons were born to this union. After living on the farm that he had loved for so long, he moved to Anita in 2007. Don enjoyed telling stories and playing cards. He spent his mornings enjoying a cup of coffee while reading the paper. Don was devoted to his family and helped care for Jay and Emily after the loss of their father. He cherished spending time with his great-grandkids; they could always put a smile on his face. Don is survived by his grandson, Jay Eden and his wife, Kelsi of Wiota, Iowa; his granddaughter, Emily Eden of Anita, Iowa; his great-grandchildren, Jaxson Eden of Atlantic, Iowa, Jaci Eden of Wiota, Iowa, and Reese Snyder of Wiota, Iowa; his sister, Dorothy King of Lewis, Iowa; his daughter-in-law, Dana Teeters; his nephews, Wayne King and his wife, Nadine and Larry Eden and his wife Bwahani; and his nieces, Shirley Twarog and her husband, Don, Barbara Hadaway and her husband Darrell, and Beverly Dean and her husband Steve. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille; his sons, Dennis and Steve Eden; his grandson, Brett Eden and his brother Russell Eden and his wife Bertie; and his brother-in-law Byron King.
