Description	:	Donald Glenn Garner, age 81, widower of Evelyn (Faucett) Garner, of Union, SC, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg. Mr. Garner was born in Kelton, SC, on January 3, 1930, a son of the late Davis Roy Garner and Bessie Inez (Adams) Garner. He attended Kelly Pinckney High School and was retired from Milliken and Company. He was a... Read More	Donald Glenn Garner, age 81, widower of Evelyn (Faucett) Garner, of Union, SC, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg. Mr. Garner was born in Kelton, SC, on January 3, 1930, a son of the late Davis Roy Garner and Bessie Inez (Adams) Garner. He attended Kelly Pinckney High School and was retired from Milliken and Company. Mr. Garner was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, two Bronze Service Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class. Surviving are a son, Ronald Glenn Garner; a granddaughter: Lamanda Elaine Garner; a great-grandson, Kanye Dillard all of the home; four sisters, Nathalee Comer of Hendersonville, NC, Betty Harvey of Jonesville, Joyce Blakely and Patsy Garner both of Columbia. Mr. Garner was predeceased by three sisters, Thelma Thrasher, Margaret Howell, Lou Jean Knox; and four brothers, Wilbur, Everette, Hershal and Thomas Leonard Garner. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2011 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alan West. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Members of the Men's Bible Class of Mt. Joy are asked to sit in a group. Visitation was held at the church from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the services. Memorials could be made to Mt. Joy Baptist Church, Jonesville, SC.
