Description	:	"The funeral for Donald Schlueter, 77, of Fremont will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont. He died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. He was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Beemer to Arnold and Lorna (Loewe) Schlueter. He attended St. John's Lutheran School in Beemer and graduated from high school in Wisner. He died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. He was born Nov. 22, 1927, in Beemer to Arnold and Lorna (Loewe) Schlueter. He attended St. John's Lutheran School in Beemer and graduated from high school in Wisner. He served in the U.S. Navy during 1946 and 1947. Following his military service, he worked as a carpenter in Wisner. He moved to Fremont in 1956, continuing to work as a carpenter. He had worked for Lloyd Stork and Rudy Carlson, and retired from Christensen Lumber. He married Marilyn Hoefs on Sept. 9, 1951, at Zion Lutheran Church in Wisner. He enjoyed fishing, watching his grandkids' sporting events, and wood working. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball. He was a longtime St. Louis Cardinals fan, and as a young man, he played Legion baseball. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1956. He also was a member of the Izaak Walton League and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854. Survivors include: his wife, Marilyn; three daughters, Barb Francis of Omaha, Marie (Mrs. Roger) Able of Haines City, Fla., and Linda (Mrs. Mike) Bechtel of Fremont; a sister-in-law, Joan Schlueter of Beemer; six grandchildren, Brett (and wife, Nancy) Bechtel, Andrea Bechtel, Gary Bechtel (and fiancee, Katie), Jennifer Francis and Eric and Jason Bechtel; and a great-granddaughter, Lexi. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. The Rev. Phillip Vance and Vicar Michael Meyer will officiate Friday's service. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont and will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont with military honors by the Fremont Honor Guard of American Legion Post 20 and VFW Post 854.
