Description	:	Donald Hock, 87, of Lisbon, ND passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at home. Donnie was born February 28, 1935, on the family farm to Herman and Clara (Hansen) Hock. He spent his entire life on the farm, attending grade school in Big Bend Township. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1952, where he was active in FFA and cattle judging. Read More	Donald Hock, 87, of Lisbon, ND passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at home. Donnie was born February 28, 1935, on the family farm to Herman and Clara (Hansen) Hock. He spent his entire life on the farm, attending grade school in Big Bend Township. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1952, where he was active in FFA and cattle judging. He started his career in farming shortly after. He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Bratlie on October 28, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon, recently celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary. To this union three sons were born and raised on the family farm; Rick in 1958, Jeff in 1959, and Jim in 1963. Raising livestock and farming were important to him as well as all the haying he did for himself and many neighbors as well. He was a DeKalb Corn salesman for 40 years, an active 4-H leader, and he served on the Lisbon Eagles Club as President, Treasurer, cook, blackjack dealer, and a trustee for both the local club and State of North Dakota. He loved being outdoors and spent free time fishing, hunting, and fur trapping learning from and following his dad's footsteps in all three. Many Canadian fishing trips taken with friends and family were fond memories for him. His last years were closer to home; fishing trips to Kraft Slough and Twin Lakes. As a couple, Donnie and Marilyn enjoyed going dancing, He also enjoyed bowling and going to tournaments. Donnie is survived by his wife Marilyn; sons, Rick (Mary) Hock, Jeff (Tina) Hock, and Jim (Donna) Hock; one sister, Judi (Tom) Townley; two grandchildren and two great grandsons; seven step-grandchildren and eleven step great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and his "special" coffee crew. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, sister and husband, Patti and Terry Carlen; half-sister, Marilyn Larson and half-brother, Duane Hock. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon followed by burial at Oakwood Cemetery near Lisbon.
