Cross were conducted here Friday afternoon at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Gordon Jensen, pastor of the Congregational-Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Military rites were conducted at the cemetery after which the flag which draped the casket was presented to his mother. The body was accompanied from Pennsylvania by Sgt. Arthur J. Lynch, a fellow airman at the base. Mr. Cross, age 24, died at Benton, Pa. October 11. Donald James Cross, son of Melvin J. and Mabel Cross, was born at Creighton March 8, 1930. He enlisted in the Air Force in September 1950. He received his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas and later served at Newfoundland and Goose Bay, Laborador. He had just completed his four year enlistment and re-enlisted for six more years. He was with the 648th AC&W squadron, Red Rock Air Base, Benton, Pa. He was baptized and joined the church April 14 of this year. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mabel Cross of Creighton; one sister, Mrs. Robert Hergert of Royal; three grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oppen and Mrs. Ida Cross, all of Creighton and his fiancée, Miss Betty Hiscox of Benton, Pa.
