Funeral services were held on September 10, at Dakins Community Center in Zearing. Burial was in Clemons Cemetery. Funeral services were held on September 10, at Dakins Community Center in Zearing. Burial was in Clemons Cemetery. Butch was born July 8, 1937, in Marshalltown, the son of Michael and Kathryn (Clarey) Bowman. He was a Marshalltown resident for the past 15 years; he also was formerly of St. Anthony. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-57 and in Korea from 1955-56. He was employed as a truck driver until he retired in 1995. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 456 in Rhodes. He married Carolyn Cole on July 20, 1978, in Marshalltown. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth (Palmer) Johnston of Marshalltown and Mrs. Ruth (Dennis) Gibb of Fountain Valley, Calif.; one step-daughter, Carmen (Donald) Pritchett of rural Zearing; one son, Tim Sizemore of Green City, Mo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing was in charge of arrangements.
