Description	:	OBIT: Don L. Harmon, 81, long-time Kittitas County resident, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 18, 1999. He went peacefully, surrounded by his family. Born in Miles City, Montana on November 2, 1918, he was one of four children of Bob and Cora Harmon. He came to this area in 1936. He enlisted in the US Army in 1941. He... Read More	OBIT: Don L. Harmon, 81, long-time Kittitas County resident, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 18, 1999. He went peacefully, surrounded by his family. Born in Miles City, Montana on November 2, 1918, he was one of four children of Bob and Cora Harmon. He came to this area in 1936. He enlisted in the US Army in 1941. After training in the California desert, he participated in the Normandy Landing in 1944 and served as a truck driver and jeep driver in the liberation of France and defeat of Germany until the end of WWII. He and Wanda Bacon were married in 1946. He worked as a trucker and logger for many years, and finally as a carpenter for Central Washington University for 14 years, until his retirement. He was a long-time snowmobiles, horseman, and lover of the out-of-doors. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Harmon of Ellensburg; two sons, Don Jr. of Cle Elum and Terry of Yakima; one daughter, Kelli Harmon of Moses Lake; two grandchildren, Cody (Tiffany) Diefenbach and Dusty Rosenburg; one great granddaughter, Kali Diefenbach; and one sister, Helen Davis of Twisp. Following cremation, family committal service and burial will be at High Valley Cemetery. Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Don's life at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 23 at Hal Holmes Center, 201 North Ruby, Ellensburg. Memorials are suggested to Hospice, 302 E.
