Description	:	Hospers - Donald LeRoy Pageler, 70, of Hospers, died Sunday, July 7, 1996, at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City after a brief illness. Don Pageler was born on Dec. 5, 1925, in Craig, the son of Carl and Elsie (Schuette) Pageler. He attended Craig Elementary School and Ireton High School. Read More	Hospers - Donald LeRoy Pageler, 70, of Hospers, died Sunday, July 7, 1996, at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City after a brief illness. Don Pageler was born on Dec. 5, 1925, in Craig, the son of Carl and Elsie (Schuette) Pageler. He attended Craig Elementary School and Ireton High School. He served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1947, receiving the Purple Heart. On Oct. 30, 1946, he married Paula Stylarets [or Devoght] in Lier, Belgium. Mr. Pageler worked for Wells’ Blue Bunny for many years and then moved to California where he worked for ALS until retiring in 1991. He currently resided in Hospers. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and Reuter American Legion Post 423 in Hospers. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Pageler, and a brother-in-law, Fred Westergard. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 10, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Hospers, Iowa. The Rev. James Tigges officiating. Burial was in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery at Craig. Visitation was after 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, at St. Anthony’s Catholice Church, with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Casket Bearers: Dale DeGouei, Gene Pageler, Carl Westergard, Matt Hoffman, Scott Pageler and Randall Westergard.
