Description	:	S2 US Army World War II Donald L. Sharpe, 60 of Clarinda died Monday night following a heart attack suffered at his home at 615 E. State Street. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr Sharpe was born May 9, 1918, at Shenandoah, the son to W.O. and Floy Pearson Sharpe. On April 6, 1938 he was married to Elaine Savage who survives. He had been in failing health for several years. Mr Sharpe was born May 9, 1918, at Shenandoah, the son to W.O. and Floy Pearson Sharpe. On April 6, 1938 he was married to Elaine Savage who survives. Don grew up in the Shenandoah area and lived in Page and Taylor counties all of his life. He worked for Taylor County operating heavy equipment before working for Clarinda Coal and Concrete. Health forced him to retire several years ago. He was a veteran of WWII. Besides his wife Elaine of the home he is survived by one daughter, Judy Hayes and son-in-law Dan Hayes of Clarinda. He was preceded in death by a brother Duane, one grandchild, and his parents. His mother having died just last month. Funeral services were held this Thursday morning at Walker-Merrick Funeral Home with Carl Cummings officiating. Mary Anderson was organist and Rosevelyn Bashor soloist. Casket bearers were: George Sefrit, Marvin Woldruff, Kenny Lawson, Dennis Otte, Jim Crain, and Dennis Harper. Burial was in Memory Cemetery at New Market. Sharpe had a long time interest in citizens band radios, developing a reputation as someone who could be called when help was needed.
