Donald was a 1964 graduate of Homer Comm Schools and a freshman at Western Michigan Uni.., majoring in food distribution. As part of his on the job training he had been working in a South Bend supermarket for the past seven weeks, and had spent Thursday, his day off. with his parents. He was returning to South Ben when he apparently lost control of his car on wet- leaf-covered pavement and struck a tree. He was taken to a Niles hospital and transferred to the South Bend hospital. Donald was born in Albion, to Harold E and Gertrude (Miller) Young. He had been an outstanding athlete in high school and a member of the Varsity Club. He was also a member of the First Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs Rober (Joan) Vandenburgh of Jackson, a brother Gerald E at home and his paternal grand parents Mr and Mrs Ross H Young of Homer.
