He was born to M.L. and Madeline (Cavanaugh) Moody in Leavenworth on April 20, 1952. Don graduated from Peshastin-Dryden High School and attended W.W.U. in Bellingham. Moody, 57, a former resident of Peshastin, was called home on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Central Washington Hospital. He was born to M.L. and Madeline (Cavanaugh) Moody in Leavenworth on April 20, 1952. Don graduated from Peshastin-Dryden High School and attended W.W.U. in Bellingham. Don also served in the U.S. Air Force, wrote and published a book, "America's Worst Train Disaster" and was active in Politics. He was a walking history book. Don was a dispatcher for the Chelan County Sheriff's Department, was a car salesman and worked in radio for 20 years. Don is survived by two daughters, Dawn Marie (Frank) Martinez of Maple Valley and Shandee (Jesse) Russell of Phoenix, AZ; two sons, Ronald (Susan) Moody of Tennessee and Damon (Monica) Tomchick of East Wenatchee; 12 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Pat (Heidi) Brandt of Orondo; one brother, Michael (Rita) Houser; and his step-father, Jerry Houser of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers. His love for his six aunts, Maggie, Daisie, Ruby, Hazel, Alline and Auntie Hon was incredible. A thank you to Bill Rowley and Keri, Jeff and Chris Jeffris and Paul Greg. You were the wind beneath his wings. A Celebration of Life for Donald M. Moody will be held at Kristall's Restaurant at 280 Highway 2, Leavenworth, in the Banquet Room on Monday, March 15, 2010, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, in charge of the arrangements.
