Born in Audubon, Iowa, Mr. Farley was a graduate of the Rippey High School, Rippey, Iowa. He married the former Herma Axtell in June, 1934 in Strawberry Point, Iowa. Arrived in 1930 -- Mr. Farley came to Blue Grass in 1930 and became associated with the Blue Grass Savings bank. He was a member of the school board of the Blue Grass Community School District for more than 20 years, and had at one time served as president of the organization. Active in Masons -- Mr. Farley was a member of Lanesboro Lodge AF & AM, the Zarephath Consistory, Kaaba Temple, Davenport, and the Blue Grass Presbyterial Church. He also was a member of the Commercial Club, the Izaak Walton League, the Quad-City Color Slide Club, and the Color Shooters Camera Club. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Marvin Farley, Coe College, Cedar Rapids, and Elton Farley, Blue Grass; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Kersey; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Farley, both of Jefferson, Iowa; and five brothers, Claude C., Jarold M., and Kenneth L. Farley, all of Lady Smith, Wis., Reno E., and Albert H., both of Rippey, Iowa. His father, Fred Farley, preceded him in death.
