Description	:	Donald R. Gibson, Sr. age 78 of Clinton, passed away Thursday April 11, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday April 15th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Monday 9:30 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Donald was born on June 3, 1940 in Clinton, the son of Hugh and Marion (Powell) Gibson. He married Wanda Inman on Feb. 21, 1959 in Clinton; she died in 2006. Donald worked as a union contractor in concrete for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching football. Donald is survived by his three children, Donald Gibson, Jr. of Clinton, Dean Gibson of Clinton, and Cindy (Eric) Friesen of Sterling, IL; two grandchildren, Erica and Emily; two sisters, Wanda Carstensen of Clinton and Sandra (John) Hicks of Rock Falls, IL; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a brother. Pape Funeral Home.
