Read More	APACHE JUNCTION, Arizona — Donald Richard Funk, 79, passed away on August 15, 2008, in Apache Junction, Arizona. Mr. Funk was born February 2, 1929, the son of Clarence and Fern Funk, in Waterloo, Iowa. He was a 17 year resident of Gold Canyon, Ariz. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He had such a zest for life and truly was one of a kind. His passions included his children, grandchildren, sudoku and crossword puzzles. He loved all sports — especially the Iowa State Cyclones and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed creating copper art projects and baking pies. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1956 with a degree in animal science. He worked for Kent Feeds, Muscatine, for 28 years where he made many lifelong friends. After retirement from Kent Feeds, he was one of the founders of the Lyfe Corp. He married June Stille Funk in 1953, who preceded him in death. They had three children together, which they raised in Muscatine. He is survived by his children and their spouses, son, David Funk and wife, Lisa, of Mesa, Arizona; daughter, Janice Funk Alleman and husband, John, of Easton, Philadelphia; a daughter, Jeanne Funk Reynolds of Gold Canyon, Arizona; two grandsons, Jamison Alleman and Jackson Funk; two sisters, Marvel Dennie of Independence, Iowa, and Dorothy Holley of Weyauwega, Wisconsin; and a brother, Melvin Funk of Winthrop, Iowa. Don will be deeply missed by all of his family and his many friends.
