Allen Sager officiating, and burial was at the Wessington Cemetery. Donald Rogers King was born May 24, 1919, to Raymond M. and Edith O. (Rogers) King at Wessington. He was raised in Wessington where he graduated from Wessington High School in 1938. On December 28, 1941 he married Florence E. Cable. They settled in the Wessington area where they raised their family and farmed for several years. He later worked as a carpenter until he retired. He always kept active helping others around town with mowing and odd jobs. He especially enjoyed gardening, giving rides on his homemade go-cart, and helping out at the school. He is survived by his wife, Florence, Wessington; four sons, Dennis King, Newcastle, Wyo., Robert (Judy) King, Newcastle, Wyo., Ronald (Cindy) King, Belle Fourche, Kevin (Roxy) King, Spearfish; six daughters, Sandra (Tom) Beerman, Huron, Connie Schroeder, Sioux Falls, Kathy O'Connor, Belle Fourche, Patricia (Steve) Brown, Ft. Pierre, Sherry (Robert) Lichty, Wessington, and Jannelle (David) Zerfoss, Wessington; 23 grandchildren and nine great-children; and one brother, Paul King, of Minnesota. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Keith and Eugene; one daughter, Debra; a son-in-law, Michael O'Connor, and one sister, Maxine Harden.
