Description	:	Donald R. Stadler, 81, of North Platte passed away Nov. 9, 2006, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. The body was cremated. He was born July 25, 1925, in Minden to Edward and Emma Schmidt Stadler. He was the youngest of four brothers and five sisters. He grew up on a farm near Minden and graduated from Minden High School in 1941. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served in the Pacific Theater. Stadler, 81, of North Platte passed away Nov. 9, 2006, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. The body was cremated. He was born July 25, 1925, in Minden to Edward and Emma Schmidt Stadler. He was the youngest of four brothers and five sisters. He grew up on a farm near Minden and graduated from Minden High School in 1941. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served in the Pacific Theater. He was discharged in 1946 and remained in San Francisco. In 1951, he was recalled to the navy and served off the Korean coast until he was discharged in 1952. He remained in San Francisco working for the Sante Fe Railroad in their offices. Later he was transferred to the Los Angeles area and remained there until he retired on disability. In 1984, he moved to North Ft. Myers, Fla. He lived there until 2002 when his health began to fail. He moved to North Platte to be near nephews who could assist him and lived in a Premier Estates assisted living unit. Donald was a member of the National Ostemy Association. He served in various capacities in this organization being president for a year. He is survived by eight nephews and one niece, Michael (Sheila) Miller and Gene (Ardys) Stadler of North Platte, Larry (Barbara) Nelson and Marilyn Nelson of Rio Vista, Calif., Allan (Sara) Stadler of New Haven, Conn., Romaine Stadler of Minden, Terry Stadler of Tyler, Texas, Kent (Norma Lee) Stadler of Lincoln and Marshall (Kathy) Jergens of Ames, Iowa. His parents, four brothers and five sister preceded him in death. A memorial service was held Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at First Baptist Church at B and McDonald with the Revs. Larry Nelson and Tom Wiles officiating.
