Mr. Hinkle retired as a machinist from Warner Swasey, Monarch Machine, Stamco. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. He had been an Auglaize County Sheriff's Deputy Auxiliary for more than 11 years and was on the Cridersville Volunteer Fire Department for more than 11 years. He enjoyed NASCAR, camping and fishing. Survivors include a son, Donald R. (Nancy) Hinkle Jr., of Lima; a daughter, Ellen (Ronald) Wolff, of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Bill) Wapplehorst, Dustin Hinkle and Darren Hinkle; and two sisters, Velma Mayer Geyer, of Lima, and Agnes Golden, of Cridersville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Hinkle; and two sisters, Ruby Watterson DeLong and Beulah Putt. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, near Cridersville. The Rev. James C. Couser will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
