Description	:	Donald Wayne Miller, 89, of Keosauqua, Iowa passed away and was reunited with his loving wife Patricia on July 4, 2021, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center. A private family service with military honors will be held in the Forbes Cemetery near Keosauqua, Iowa with his six grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Read More	Donald Wayne Miller, 89, of Keosauqua, Iowa passed away and was reunited with his loving wife Patricia on July 4, 2021, at the Keosauqua Health Care Center. A private family service with military honors will be held in the Forbes Cemetery near Keosauqua, Iowa with his six grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Donald Wayne Miller was born on September 25, 1931, East of Mt. Zion, Iowa at the home of his parents, Donald and Nellie Finney Miller. Wayne graduated from Keosauqua High School and attended Parsons College where he joined the TKE Fraternity before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1951. After his honorable discharge in 1955 he returned home from Japan and began his employment at the United States Postal Service and farming. He retired from the postal service in 1993. In 1957, Wayne married the love of his life, Patricia Nixon. They enjoyed 63 years by each other's side before she passed away on May 5, 2021. To this marriage three children were born: Donald James, Hugh Craig and Ann Elizabeth. Wayne believed strongly in community involvement. He was a member of the United Methodist Church Chancel Choir, Bicentennial Singers and participated in 20 plus years of community theatre. Wayne served for several years with the Van Buren Sports Boosters Club with a particular interest in announcing track and field. He also spent time on the boards of the Keosauqua Library, Center Village, Riverview Country Club, and the Good Samaritan Review Committee. He was a long-time member of the American Legion as well as the Elks and Masons. Wayne and Pat enjoyed all things related to their grandchildren. They would travel any distance to watch them compete in their activities. In his free time Wayne enjoyed sitting down with a good book or a round of golf. He and Pat loved to travel and had visited 49 states with Hawaii being the only one they were unable to visit together. Wayne will be missed, but there is comfort knowing where he is and that he and Pat are together again. Left to honor his memory are his children, Donald (Chandra) Miller of Kirksville, MO, H. Craig Miller of Keosauqua, IA, and Ann (Geoff) Miller Hutton of Kearney, MO; six grandchildren, Sam (Stacey) Miller, Tyler Miller, Tanner Miller, Rachel (Chris) Daniels, Rebecca (Patrick) Lilley, and Jacob (Tessa) Hutton; seven great grandchildren, Henry Miller, Charley Miller, Hadley Miller, Eleanor Daniels, Camilla Daniels, Griffin Lilley, and Gabe Lilley, as well as many extended family and friends. Memorial contributions in Wayne's honor may be directed to the Forbes Cemetery Association or to the Keosauqua American Legion Post #113.
